Marketing starts with the person who markets: YOU.

How you perceive your business as a whole plays a huge and important role when it comes to attracting clients. You basically can’t look good without first feeling good.

The same goes with your business. You cannot attract people to your business when you yourself are not attracted to the beauty and art of your own products or services. To be successful with your marketing tactics, follow these tips:

  1. Be confident

I know! Being confident is easier said than done. If you struggle with confidence, fight it by believing in yourself.

How do you do that?

Make a list of all the things you like and proud of about yourself. You could start by making a list of your achievements and add things that you know you are doing very well.

This list will serve as a reminder of the things you should be proud of.  It represents the reasons why you should trust yourself and feel more confident. Your accomplishments are unique. No other business owner can imitate them. Thereby making your business unique too.

Although there may be other similar businesses to yours, your business will stand out as it’s managed by a unique person with unique backgrounds and abilities. That being said, you should realize that it’s no use to try to imitate other business owner’s strategy and tactics. You are different and so as your business. Use that as your edge.

  1. Willingness

When a business owner becomes overwhelmed, it usually results to inaction.  When your mind is bombarded with too much marketing information, you can end up feeling paralysed not knowing what to follow and what to do next.

When that happens, here’s how to get back in action: KEEP EVERYTHING SIMPLE BECAUSE IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE COMPLICATED!  If, however, you feel like implementing a strategy you think will work for you, then do it.  It’s your willingness that will fuel your passion in your business. When you are willing, you perform consistently. That’s what really matters.

  1. Don’t take it personally

Feedback is a gift. Good or bad, see it as your opportunity to grow and develop.  At the end of the day, the most important person you listen to is yourself.

Consider your feedback but realise that the primary reason you perform well or badly still boils down to how you feel about yourself as a business owner. Persist and have grit – don’t lose hope.

If a prospective client turns down an offer, it doesn’t mean that he/she won’t be interested with your business in the future. A “no” shouldn’t stop you.  Keep doing your thing.

  1. Do not assume

When it comes to business, there’s one thing you totally should avoid: ASSUMPTION. Assumptions can make you carry burdens and stress that aren’t important. It will drain your energy and waste your time. It can even create misunderstandings. And people usually miss out great opportunities because of wrong assumptions. It results to a person’s low self-esteem. When you assume, you end up providing wrong product or service to the wrong people.

  1. Stick to your plans

An excellent plan involves a priority list that will keep you from getting out of focus. A lot will come along your way that can get you confused. When you’re no longer sure which decision is the best for your business, check your plans and priorities. Getting a reminder of your initial goals will help clear out the directions you need to take. It will help you assess the situation whether you’re heading to where you initially plan to be.

  1. Be creative

Don’t stick to strategies that get your business stuck and paralysed. If something doesn’t work, then change it. BUT change it creatively. And when I say creative, I mean being open minded enough to consider suggestions of people involve in the business. When you give people the chance to tell you what they think is wrong, you are giving yourself a big chance to grow and become creative when trying to come up of solutions to your problems. You probably know more than these people, but they probably know something you will never realize alone. It won’t hurt asking their opinion.

  1. Be passionate

Successful people are those who are passionate about what they do. When you are passionate, everything else follows: perseverance, determination, courage and pretty much everything else you need to keep your business going.
