Teal Appeal

Teal: a dark greenish-blue colour, it is a fabulous choice for home interior decorating and one of those colours that can work effectively in both the warmer and cooler seasons.

To give teal that glamorous edge, team it with rose gold or copper accents (other colours which are making a bold statement this year). The pairing of these colours creates a sense of sumptuous richness. The opulence also seeks to create a sense of warmth that is truly inviting, perfect for the home.

If you’re searching for other colour pairings, try sticking with other jewel-toned colours such as maroon, citrine and amethyst.

If you have a neutral background, the teal can be used sparingly, in the form of décor accents such as candle holders or vases. Alternatively, you can make a dramatic statement by engaging a teal-coloured sofa in your living room. The colour works beautifully in velvet – the richness of the fabric paired with the richness of the colour makes for an ideal match. It also has a summery appeal when paired with a vibrant, sunshine yellow.

Here are some of our favourite teal home interior picks (and pics) to inspire your own decorating…

My name is Domenica, but my tribe call me Dom. I’ve written for a number of successful and popular Australian blogs, and I have experience working in both education and the media. I have a slight (ahem) shopping addiction, but I prefer to think of it as an ethical contribution to the growth of the economy. I am fuelled by a love of art, photography, home interiors, trashy television and my family (not in that order).
