Simple, striking and timeless, marble is a ‘trend’ that has been used in art and architecture alike since ancient times! Cool and tactile, marble lends itself perfectly to a minimalist style home.

Due to its capacity to be both elegant and refined, marble works well as a focal point, for example, as a kitchen benchtop or a bathroom splashback or vanity. It also works well as home décor pieces such as platters, vases, bowls and candles. The marbled pattern design has also been known to work well when replicated on fabric for use on things such as cushions and bed linen.

For those who see it as too cold, you may want to consider balancing it against warmer natural product such as timber. Pair it with blonde timbers such as American Oak and Blackbutt for a Scandinavian aesthetic. Or you could go glam by mixing marble and metallic colours such as gold, brass and copper.

The beauty of marble is that it works in a number of different home décor schemes. Rustic marble works beautifully in French Provincial styled homes, it also suits the classic Hamptons beach home and, of course, is an ideal match for the modern minimalistic home.
