Pom poms have made a huge comeback this season. You’ll find these fluffy, bushy balls of cheer on everything from runway high fashion to hip homewares.

Pom poms (not the cheerleader kind) bring a certain sense of whimsy with them. You’ll find them on everything from scarves to high heels, adding a youthful edge to your outfit.

When it comes to homewares, you can give in to the playful edge of pom poms and opt for soft furnishings in bright colours or pastel hues featuring pom pom embellishments. Or, you can choose items where the pom poms are paired with neutral colourways (think grey, taupe or indigo) for a more grown-up feel.

Reed Pom Pom Post Bullseye Imports

Reed Gift Fairs exhibitor, Bullseye Imports, have cleverly paired pom poms with natural and grey toned cushions, giving a sophisticated cushion a fun and playful twist. These cushions would look perfect in a modern coastal abode.

Pom poms Dlux

Scarves work particularly well with the addition of pom poms. In this image of a trio of beautiful DLUX scarves, the blue scarf has a great sense of fun thanks to the addition of pom poms in blue and grey tones. And baby beanies are always better with a pom pom on top!

Pom Poms Annabel Trends 1

Annabel Trends have also added bold pom pom trims to their collection of large throw rugs. Available in a range of colourways, including a very popular grey and pastel mint duo, these blankies are sure to be a hit come the cooler weather.

Pom Poms Annabel Trends 2

In the image above, Annabel Trends lifts an otherwise simple pair of ballet slippers thanks to the addition of a sweet pom pom topper in the same colour. Great for gift-giving or spoiling yourself.

If pom poms aren’t quite your thing, you may want to check out the grown up version of the pom pom: the tassel. Tassels add interest and texture, and they work beautifully with eclectic or bohemian homewares and soft furnishing pieces. When it comes to fashion, tassels add a flirty and feminine edge to fashion picks.

Tassels DWBH Homewares

We simply adore the tassels on this beautiful feature cushion by Reed Gift Fairs exhibitor, DWBH Homewares. The tassels work beautifully with the Moroccan colours to make the cushion a focal point in the room.

Tassels Indus Designs

These contemporary cushions, by Indus Designs, prove that tassels can be both sophisticated and on-trend. Perfect for the modern home.

We saw plenty of pom poms and tassels at Reed Gift Fairs Sydney February 2017. See the full exhibitor directory here.
